Running progress

When I went for my run last week, I boinked, making it maybe a mile-and-a-half before I started having to walk, and never getting into any kind of groove. It was the day after my layoff, and I hoped that it was due to my extensive sorrows-drowning the day before. Fortunately that seems to be that case, as I had my best run of the new running era last night. A little over 4 miles total, not counting the warmup walk, with 3.5 of that being running. Most importantly, because I'm trying to continually extend my endurance, the first three miles were all running. I'll keep to the once a week schedule for a while to give my sinews and cartilage a chance to adjust to their new role, probably until I can semi-comfortably run 5 miles without stopping. Then I'll add a second shorter, higher-tempo run on another day of the week to bring up my pace. Right now, if I had to guess, I start off running 10s and end up running 8.5s My personal best (a decade ago) was 2.2 miles in 13:02. I don't expect to get back there any time soon, but consistant 8s would be nice.

In other news, I'm regaining muscle definition on my abdomen, which makes me happy.
